Get in Touch points record questions to the Polk County, North Carolina office that actually holds the information. This is a private reference, not a government desk. The Sheriff confirms county custody and handles its own booking requests; the Clerk handles court files; city departments handle their municipal records; NCDAC, BOP, and ICE handle separate custody systems.

This private reference cannot confirm custody, release anyone, post bond, or retrieve an official booking record. Contact the responsible government office directly for those answers.

Incidents, arrests, and booking records use the Sheriff’s public-records request page, which links to Polimorphic. No booking-photo fee or guaranteed response deadline is published. Ask the custodian about any fee, timing, redaction, or record holder.

Where Each Question Belongs

Start with the source matched to the record:

  • For a county booking photo, admission, or current custody question, use Citizen Connect and the Polk Sheriff’s records route.
  • For a criminal case, hearing, dismissal, judgment, or expunction order, use North Carolina eCourts and the Polk Clerk.
  • For a Tryon, Columbus, or Saluda municipal report, contact that city’s police or town custodian, then ask whether the Sheriff holds the booking record.
  • For a sentenced state prisoner, probationer, or parolee, use the NCDAC offender search.
  • For federal custody, use the BOP locator; for eligible immigration detention, use the ICE locator.
  • For urgent danger, call 911. The Sheriff’s communications page is the route for non-urgent information and official tips.

City Police Contacts

Each city page has a different routing issue. Tryon’s official police page lists 291 North Trade Street, Tryon, NC 28782, and 828-859-9195. Local Saluda resources list Saluda Police at 2 East Main Street, Saluda, NC 28773, and 828-749-2691. The Town of Columbus website is the municipal starting point for Columbus questions. None of the reviewed city sources publishes a separate public booking-photo feed or fixed response schedule.

Tryon, Columbus, and Saluda arrests can enter the Polk detention system. Citizen Connect offers filters `TRYON - NC0750100`, `COLUMBUS - NC0750300`, and `SALUDA - NC0750200`. A city arrest that does not result in a Polk admission may not appear in the county roster.

Send a Clear Request

Give the office enough detail to locate the right file. State the person’s name, approximate date, arresting agency, booking number or case number if known, and the exact record requested. Ask whether the response is held by the city, Sheriff, Clerk, or another agency. If a record is withheld, request the basis and any non-exempt portion.

For the Sheriff, ask separately for the admission record, identification photograph, arrest date and time, agency, charge and bond fields, and release or transfer information. Do not assume that release means dismissal or that a court docket is a jail record. Keep the response for comparison with the official court file.
